Description

The Salcedo Kitchen at 42 1/2 St. George Street is a reconstruction of a structure from the First Spanish Period (1565-1763). Archaeological excavations by the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board revealed the original foundations of the structure in 1962. The Salcedo Kitchen served as a bakery for San Agustín Antiquo, a living history museum. Today, the property is managed by the University of Florida Historic St. Augustine, Inc.
