Private, born Nov. 3rd 1823, 5ft 9 in., enlisted June 13th 1863, honorably discharged May 29th 1864 due to fall sustained during drilling accident, worked as a farm hand and gardner after the war, married to Maragret Williams, married Sept. 10th 1850 until his death on May 3rd, 1891 of cancer. Well known and liked by many.

"They were both slaves at the time of the marriage" They were freed by the time Simon joined the army.
Description
Proving herself to be the deceased's widow and expressing her right to the pension. No copy of marriage certificate.
