Who under oath states that he knew the late soldier Simon Williams very well, that he served as private in Company [not legible] and that he has [not legible] in the military [not legible] May 24 1864. He further states he knows Margaret Williams the Claimant widow of Simon Williams very well. That she is still the widow of late Simon Williams. That she has no means of support other than her own labor. That she has a home where she lives worth perhaps $400 to $500 but she receives no income from it. The above he [not legible] upon his own personal knowledge, having known her for the last 35 or 40 years.
